probably my favorite thai spot in orange county! it is a bit of a drive but well worth it. this location is their second and much less crowded than their first, but still just as good. what we got - khao soi 8/10 a bit on the saltier side in my opinion, large portion of tender chicken - pad kee mao 9/10 also on the saltier side bc of the soy sauce but very flavorful, texture of the noodles was phenomenal - massaman curry with roti 10/10 i get this every time i come back, SUPER flavorful and reminds me of a thai-indian curry blend (has peanuts)

Food - 5/5 - Both dishes were made to perfection. I ordered the Pad See Ew - beef and Chicken Pad Thai. The noodles were perfectly chewy and soft. The seasoning was perfect. There was a great ratio between vegetables, meat and noodles. Price - $$+0.5$ - This was on the pricier end for what it is but it is good. Service - 4/5 - The servers were super fast and friendly. They come to check on you every so often. Ambiance - 5/5 - The restaurant is quite small so it's very intimate. The vibes are pretty casual and chic. Location - 5/5 - There's a huge parking lot because it's in a big plaza! __________ **Note: Location rating does not affect yelp review, this is just for informative purposes of other patrons only.

Hanuman Thai Eatery in Newport Beach is a standout among local Thai restaurants, offering a delightful dining experience with less wait time compared to its other branch. Popular with locals, this spot impresses with its food quality and attention to detail, while its modern decor seamlessly incorporates Thai cultural elements. The restaurant's theme, inspired by the Monkey King from Hindu mythology, might seem unrelated to Thai cuisine, but it symbolizes the strength evident in their flavorful dishes and beautiful presentation. We ordered a variety of favorites, starting with the fried chicken wings paired with sticky rice and green papaya salad. The chicken wings were perfectly crispy and juicy, and the green papaya salad had a tasty balance of freshness with a mild spicy kick. The green curry, served with grilled chicken breast, was creamy and flavorful, though the chicken was slightly overcooked; the rich curry sauce with rice more than made up for this minor issue. The Pad Thai with prawn was also enjoyable, though I would have preferred a touch more sweetness and tanginess to enhance the dish. Overall, the food was excellent, and we will definitely return when we're in the area. The service was outstanding, rounding out a highly satisfying dining experience.

Delicious! Really yummy Thai food! Arguably some of the best Thai food I've ever had! My husband and I ordered for pick up. We split the Pad See Ew, Drunken Noodle (spicy), Gai Todd Hat Yai, and the House Greens. The Pad See Ew and Drunken Noodle had amazing noodles. So bouncy and chewy! Delicious noodles that really soaked up the sauce. The Pad See Ew was insanely delicious. With the sauce on the side, the Pad See Ew was addictive and balanced. The pieces of egg were my favorite! The Drunken Noodle was also delicious. Loved the spice level. The Gai Todd Hat Yai was also delicious! The chicken was seasoned well and juicy. Loved the combination of the chicken with the sweet and sour sauce and fried pieces of shallot. A delicious bite of food! Would absolutely come back! I'd love to eat the Pad See Ew again! I'd also especially love to try the Pad Thai.

So apparently they do have 2 locations. This one is off of the 55 freeway heading towards Newport Beach. The other one apparently is Bristol. I have been here once before and loved it. Everything was good. Today the only thing I didn't like much was the curry . It was a little too sweet in flavor. My favorite was the papaya salad, beef, the spicy drunken noodles and soup. Food came out quick, staff is friendly. Came around a few times checking up on us, refilling our water and napkins. They do have plenty of parking in the lot compared to the other location. Offering indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend coming before the rush.. I've been here before and it does it pack for dinner around 830pm. We definitely be back again.

Hanuman is a modern restaurant that puts a spin on the classic touch of Thai cuisine. Hanuman's menu comprises of Thai staples like pad thai, pad see ew, and khao soi. The khao soi was a wondrous blend of flavors and was very comforting to eat. The pad see ew had an extremely pungent kick and was extremely sweet. It's a great place to share a meal.

Hanuman Thai Eatery is up there as one of the best spots for elevated Thai food in SoCal! They only have two locations and they are about 10-15 minutes away from each other. This location is located in a plaza surrounded by other food places and a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a nice modern Thai-inspired interior with about 7-8 tables for seating. For their menu, they have a unique selection of different rice, noodle, and curry dishes. Wifey and I opted to try the Gai Todd Hat Yai, Khao Soi, Massaman Hangar Steak Curry, and their Thai Banana Pudding for dessert. Everything we had was delicious and filling! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience here. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. All the Thai food enthusiasts got to check this spot out!

My friends and I recently visited the Costa Mesa location of this Thai restaurant for our friends birthday but opted to head to the Newport Beach spot due to a long wait and unfavorable seating arrangements for our party of 12. Newport Beach was a much better choice! We were seated right away, and the parking was far more convenient. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with traditional Thai decor, setting the perfect ambiance for our meal. Now, let's talk about the food--delicious and savory doesn't even begin to describe it! We essentially ordered the entire menu: Khao Soi, drunken noodle, pad se ew, Thai boat noodles, chicken satay, chicken larb, son-in-law eggs, Tom yum, crying tiger, and Gai Todd Hat Yai. Every dish was packed with flavor, though I wish a few had come out spicier. The customer service was outstanding--attentive and friendly throughout our entire experience. If you're craving Thai flavors with excellent service, I highly recommend the Newport Beach location. It made our dining experience unforgettable! I wish I got more photos in!!

Service was good. Our server was attentive and friendly, but with a hint of upselling (ie. more drinks for the table, appetizers, add-ons, etc.) which I don't always appreciate. We had a variety of different dishes. The Gai Todd Hat Yai which is a fried chicken + sticky rice with dipping sauce ($20) stood out. The Khao Soi ($21) was alright - though loved that the chicken drumstick was very tender! I also enjoyed their Pad See Ew ($17). We also got dessert - which I would probably pass next time. The Mango Sticky Rice ($15) was generous in portion but nothing super remarkable. While everything is good and presented really well, prices are on the higher side for what it was. Personally, I would come back if someone suggested it, but I would not drive out of my way just to eat here. I would enjoy the food just the same elsewhere. I appreciate the space and decor! Given the smaller setting, you can expect some form of wait if you come during peak hours.

I recently brought my family and an out-of-town friend to Hunuman and it was absolutely fantastic. This location I visited was smaller in size compared to others, but it has a delightful Thai-themed decor that enhances the overall atmosphere. The food, as always, was absolutely fantastic. We began with their ceviche, which showcased the delightful flavors of fresh yellowtail. The fried chicken (Gai Todd Hat Yai) was a crowd-pleaser, especially among the little ones, thanks to its delightful combination of crispy texture and juicy meat. We also gave a few noodle dishes a try: the Pad See Ew and Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao). Both dishes were prepared well, with a harmonious blend of flavors that I found enjoyable. The panang curry with steak was absolutely delicious. The steak was incredibly tender, while the curry was absolutely flavorful. I recommend getting a side of warm roti. We also enjoyed some Thai tea to complete the meal, and it was a great match. The meal concluded with an amazing dessert of Sticky Mango and Banana Pudding, which our waiter kindly suggested and we were glad we got. It was a deconstructed version of banana pudding.  The staff was extremely welcoming, which added to the overall pleasantness of the dining experience. Overall, this cozy spot may not have a lot of space, but it compensates with its delicious food, charming ambiance, and friendly staff.
